Another dream - with motorcycles!

I dreamed that I was riding an incredibly powerful motorcycle, realizing that it was far beyond my ability to control it, yet enjoying the ride.

Suddenly, I was in the midst of a motorcycle race. Though I was able to keep the motorcycle moving ahead, it moved very slowly and the tire spun consistently as I tried to gain traction. it was obvious that I wasn’t using the right gear. In spite of the fact that I had downshifted several times, I was still in the wrong gear and came to that realization when I spotted my father on the roadside. “You’re in the wrong gear,” he said to me. “I know. I’ve downshifted to 1st - down on the peg is downshifting, right?”

He gave me that look that I know all too well as the “I-can’t-believe-that-you-won’t-listen-to-me” look (which I have passed on to my children over the years as well) as I realized that he was right. I stepped off of the motorcycle and allowed him to put the bike into the right gear. He handed the bike over to me and I took off in a flash, enjoying the power, freedom & security of starting from the right gear and gaining the traction that I needed in order to compete in the race. (end of dream)

One interpretation:

1.  The "dad" here is really Jesus/God.
2.  You've been part of something powerful and beyond your ability to control...the growth of the kingdom of God...
3.  God/your heavenly Father, is in the process of pointing out that you have tremendous power, potential, ability, and are part of something much much greater than you are aware of...and you are spinning your wheels.  Ineffective, stuck, ....trying to participate in what's really going on and yet stuck in the wrong gear.
4.  God wants you to let him recalibrate you, get your abilities and powers back in gear so that you can go and do and enjoy what He is really calling you to do.

What I find interesting is that this is the same theme, in a sense, as the last dream you had (swimming).  God is showing you that there is so much more for you out there and that it is time to stop spinning your wheels, using old tools, techniques, paradigms, viewpoints, organisations, visions, that are no longer suitable.  Sure, you can get some traction but it isn't where the real "ride" is.
