A Twilight Discussion

We promised our English Circle that we’d take them to the movies this week after English Circle. The best choice for a movie was “Twilight.” (That probably tells what the other choices were like!).

So, in preparation, we went to see “Twilight“ last night. We probed the movie for symbols, quotes and any kind of connection that we could use for springboards into discussion about life & eternity & Jesus and us.

Well, we certainly didn’t lack for material! After the movie, we went out for ice cream and had a very lively discussion about the movie, it’s contents, intents, messages, symbols and characters.

We actually basically got kicked out of the mall because they were closing and our discussion had run into closing time.

There’s one line in the movie used a couple of times that goes something like this, ”I had never thought about how I would die. Dying in the place of someone I love seems like a good way to go...“

From there, I made a connection to Jesus giving His life for us. And therein was my opportunity to share Christ with the 3 non-believers present. There were mixed reactions at first, but we sense an openness to hearing more! PTL!

Here’s a pic of us at the mall just after eating ice cream and having our discussion!
