Tonight was a rare night in the life of the Shattuck family!

Linda & Kelly were invited to talk to the youth ministry about how they met, how they dated, how they “do family & child rearing and relationship stuff (conflict resolution, spiritual growth, etc).

It was fun, a little un-nerving and - evidently - encouraging to the students in our ministry.

KPM - Conference for Youth Workers

Well, KPM 2008, the National Network of Youth Workers’ Conference went well. Good attendance and good speakers.

I had the opportunity to give a seminar entitled “Walking in Purity” twice during the conference. It was only for the guys and over the 2 seminars, over 50 men attended.

One application that I asked them to consider (and about 40 of them did it) was to write themselves a letter encouraging themselves to continue to walk in sexual purity.

I have been in contact with some of the guys after the conference and hope to communicate more with more of them as time goes on. One particpant commented as he walked out of the seminar, “This is the first time I have ever been to a conference where the topic of sexual purity has been discussed in a setting just for men. I hope it isn’t the last time!”
