Are blogs only for the witty and wise sayings and thoughts?

It’s been a month since I last blogged. I’m not really good at keeping up on this stuff, though I’d really like to become more proficient.

What is the blog for? That’s the question that has been bouncing around in my head for... hm... at least 5 minutes now. I’d love for it to be a place where people can come to find inspiration, great quotes and wise guidance for their day. But the reality is that I don’t have that much new to say to inspire, ignite, encourage, etc.

So, my blog is simply going to continue to be what’s happening in my beady little brain. Here’s what I wrote in my quiet time journal as a prayer this morning:

Lord, it’s been a long week with being sick and all. Sometimes I feel like I’ve just been wrung out and I feel like I haven’t had much contact with You personally - obviously, there is a connection.

I do need Your wisdom and direction for all of my responsibilities that I believe You have given me. I need the ability to balance, look ahead, delegate and motivate. I need the ability to function as a team member, team leader and servant. I want to do these ministries and work in the way that You would do them if You were physically here in my shoes.

I need vision and long-term thinking for GEM-YM. I need to understand the vitals for Europe as a whole and for youth specifically. I need to be able to put that into a vision that can be translated and transferred to the lives of other youth workers/missionaries who want to make a difference in Europe.

I need cultural understanding here in Slovakia as I lead the elder team in our church. I need to understand how they think, are motivated, by what are they motivated and how can I help in any way. I need to be able to see down the road and project into their thinking needs that are coming up and must be addressed in order to present our church as a ”radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.“

And I need to be able to understand the youth culture of Slovakia... I want to be able to understand the world of the everyday teenager and help the church relate to him in order to be able to share Christ with him.

That’s all, Lord. Is there any way that You can enable me to do that?

Thanks, Kelly

There you have it. The plain truth. I continue to serve in 3 considerably huge arenas and continue to lean upon God for direction - I MUST for there is no one else from whom I will receive what I truly need.
